Here’s the Essentials

Artifcts is a new community, with content contributions growing daily from each of you. Your security and personal privacy are paramount to how we develop Artifcts and enable features to help create a meaningful and constructive experience. That said, we are acutely aware that no policy will be perfect. New exceptions and edge cases will emerge regularly that will lead us to update our policies. Some of these updates will be informed by you, some by the regulatory environment, and still others from insights we glean from other communities and AI-based tools at our disposal.

We at Artifcts are strongly committed to respecting the individuals and communities that make up Artifcts and the world beyond regardless of age, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, immigration status, national origin, pregnancy, race, religion, or sexual orientation. We expect the same from you. Violators will have a personal appointment with us to clear up any infractions or to modify their Artifcts community privileges and/or access.

Now, Everything Else You Need to Know

Below are the rules we have established to help govern the Artifcts community. We request you abide by these rules and the spirit with which they have been created. As a place where personal and global histories will be shared, we are mindful that we cannot rewrite history but can take care in how we each present these histories. When evaluating potential violations of our policy, we will consider patterns of behavior and the context of that behavior as well as any applicable public interest value, risk of harm, and international human rights standards.

Rule 1 - Is it yours to Artifct?

We expect you to comply with copyright restrictions for all content you post to Artifcts, including but not limited to photos, text, video, and audio.

Rule 2 - Privacy matters.

Before you post content that references or depicts other people or shared artifacts, consider whether you are exposing information that may violate the privacy of others. When in doubt, ask them!

Rule 3 - Let’s be real.

Do not impersonate others. Your screen name is yours to choose but you may not impersonate others or misrepresent yourself.

Rule 4 – Spam belongs in a store, not in Artifcts.

This is not a commercial sales environment. Artifcts is designed for you, to help you preserve the objects and stories of your lives. Commerical posts created to sell products or otherwise spam the Artifcts community will be removed.

Rule 5 – Abide by all laws.

Yes, all. For example, do not post any illegal content or solicit or facilitate the sharing of illegal information or objects. Do not hack the site or attempt to modify it in any way. Ensure that your content does not harass others, support or otherwise encourage hate, criminal, terrorist or other groups, or otherwise intentionally or willfully harm another person.

How We Handle Violators

We have options, including, but not limited to:

Popping into your email inbox to kindly request you revise your post
Removing the violating post
Disabling your community interaction features on Artifcts
Suspending or removing your Artifcts account

What do you do if you think a post violates these rules?

If you see a post that you think violates our rules, please help us by contacting CommunityAlert@Artifcts.com and include in your message a direct link to the Artifct in question for our team to review.

Our team strives to review all reports and address or remove any content that violates our guidelines within 24 hours.

Someone has shared something personal about me that I want to keep private.
