One of our most delightful surprises while out hiking was all the flowers! Neither @Matt nor I were expecting such beauty and floral diversity in the Arctic tundra.
The first photo is of the Arctic Labrador. The leaves have a distinct almost bay leaf like smell; we couldn't help but walking on them while hiking, which crushed the leaves and created a beautiful aroma with every step. We also collected the flowers on one of our hikes for Bjorn; he dried the flowers and turned them into a delicious honeysuckle like syrup to accompany our dessert the next night.
Jan used his pocket knife for perspective in the last photo--you can see how tiny these flowers really are! Some no more than an inch or two!
